  • This includes radioactive waste, asbestos, mercury, lead, and items containing polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) like old light ballasts and transformers.

  • This includes sealed drums, tanks, or other containers unless they have been professionally cleaned and certified as empty.

  • This includes propane tanks, fire extinguishers, gas cylinders, and items with un-drained fluids like oil, gas, or diesel.

  • This includes needles, syringes, and other biohazardous materials.

  • This includes ammunition, fireworks, and other explosive materials.

This is the most common method of payment, especially for smaller quantities of scrap metal. Please note that there is a five (5) day hold on all copper payment.

Scrap yards are required by law to record the seller's information and may ask for identification, such as a driver's license.

In some cases, you may be required to pay taxes on the income earned from selling scrap metal.
